Description

The water is the Puget sound. The pylons are from some man made structure which nature has decided to recover. I think that I may like the color version better, but I can't decide... Until then, here's the B/W version.

Camera: Canon A75
Shutter: 1/400s
Aperture: f/8.0
Tri-pod: No

Excellent composition!
Wishing for more details on the darks.
Perhaps tweaking using levels.

Really natural picture.
+10 Love it. It feels like breeezes come off it. That may sound weird, but you feel very muchly in the atmosphere with it. The black and white may give this effect.

agree with moserArtist plus maybe more details/sharpness on the stones would have been nice :) 9/10

Good Composition and mood. This work has drama and calmness at the same time, which makes it very interesting. Agree with moserARtist and Skunk, also a bit more highlights and contrast in the front, even just very subtle.

You have a good eye for a photograph. There is a strong feeling of melancholy. Congratulations.

i love the composition and the contrast but i could have been sharper. Maybe that's not what you wanted in the first place.

Great One, agree that you have a good eye for photography

Beautiful expansive landscape beyond the structure in foreground. Composition is good, only area where two pillars overlap takes some of serene mood from this otherwise well taken photograph. If you were to have taken a few steps left or right it may have separated them a bit, while still maintaining its' appearance of abandonment. Well done.

Thanks very much for all the comments. As for detail, that seems to be about it for my camera given the conditions. The product you see is after careful tuning of contrast for best detail without darkening the already nearly impossible to see posts. Any more exposure, and the sky would be all blown out.

... Or I may simply lack the skill to adjust it properly. ;)

I think it might be interesting to try on a foggy morning sometime with better light. ;)

As for a different angle, that is very interesting, I shall have to consider it.

Again, thanks all for the comments. I've always appreciated the candid and differing views of the people on this site.

Cheers,
Aaron

Great shot, I'd prefer only more dynamic composition - crop from top e. g.
